Joensuu, Pohjois-Karjala Jun 5, 2024 (Issuewire.com) – Chipmetrics is proud to announce the appointment of two experienced semiconductor professionals, Jukka Nieminen and Satu Lipponen, to its Board of Directors. Their extensive experience and fresh perspectives are expected to drive Chipmetrics towards becoming a leading semiconductor metrology company.
Jukka Nieminen, former CEO of Beneq, joins the board with a wealth of experience in the Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) equipment business in the semiconductor industry. His current position enables him to form independent strategic visions for the semiconductor market and bring significant value to Chipmetrics.
Satu Lipponen, former executive director of Murata Manufacturing and presently a distinguished independent semiconductor strategist, brings her invaluable insights to the board. Satu’s innovative approach and strategic acumen will be pivotal in steering Chipmetrics through the evolving landscape of the semiconductor industry.
“Chipmetrics belongs to the semiconductor value chain in process equipment, testing, and metrology segments. The company’s focus is on ALD process applications, providing unique and beneficial metrology products. I am eager to contribute to Chipmetrics’ continued growth and success,” says Jukka Nieminen.
“ALD is the core technology of advanced 3D semiconductor manufacturing and is utilized in the production of practically all modern semiconductor components today. Due to the strong expertise in ALD in Finland and Europe, Chipmetrics can be recognized as a core future enabler advancing the European semiconductor industry. I look forward to contributing to Chipmetrics’ future achievements,” Satu Lipponen continues.
In addition to these new appointments, earlier board member Kaj Hagros (Redstone.vc) has been elected as Chairman of the Board. Kaj’s long-term investor background and leadership will help guide Chipmetrics towards its strategic goals and foster growth.
Besides the new board members, the seed round investors, HTGF, OCCIDENT, and Innovestor investment managers will also have active roles as board observers. Furthermore, Feng Gao, co-founder and CTO of Chipmetrics, will also continue as a board member.
Mikko Utriainen, who previously served as both Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, will now focus solely on his role as CEO. Mikko’s transition strengthens the company’s management to navigate Chipmetrics through its next growth step.
Chipmetrics remains committed to advancing semiconductor metrology solutions, and these strategic appointments underscore the company’s dedication to fostering a leadership team capable of driving future growth and innovation.
