Toby Keith reveals upcoming tour despite his cancer battle

Amid his ongoing cancer battle, country music legend Toby Keith is making a triumphant return to the stage. Keith has just unveiled two upcoming headline concerts scheduled for December in Las Vegas. The 62-year-old musician, who revealed his stomach cancer diagnosis in the autumn of 2021, joyfully shared this exciting news via a video posted on his Instagram.

In the video message, Toby Keith disclosed his plan to perform at Dolby Live Park MGM Las Vegas on December 10 and 11, marking his official comeback to live music after a two-year hiatus. These concerts, he explained, are intended to serve as “rehab” shows, allowing him to rekindle his connection with performing and “get the band back in sync.”

Following his cancer diagnosis, Keith decided to take a break from music to prioritize his health. Nevertheless, he has been consistently making public appearances, including surprise pop-up concerts in Oklahoma and his appearance at the People’s Choice Country Awards in Nashville.

In his video message, Toby Keith offered a glimpse into his ongoing battle with cancer and the unyielding spirit he has maintained throughout. He expressed, “I’ve been on the old rollercoaster. But Almighty’s riding shotgun; he’s letting me drive for some reason. I was going to sit around here and do nothing like I have been. Or (I can) get up, go outside. Don’t let the old man in, you know what I mean?”

He continued, “This is the first time in my whole life I’ve been off for over two years. I’ve never been off for a year in my life. And through COVID and cancer, the old devil’s been at me a little bit. I’ve got him by the horns right now, so instead of just sitting around and waiting, we’re going to get the band back together.”

Toby Keith was honored with the 2023 Country Icon Award at the People’s Choice Country Awards last month, and he delivered his first televised performance since revealing his cancer diagnosis in June 2022. He performed “Don’t Let the Old Man,” a song from Clint Eastwood’s 2018 film, “The Mule.”

The Face of Nintendo’s Transformation Is Super Mario Bros. Wonder

Nintendo is enjoying a highly successful year. “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” achieved record-breaking success, and Switch sales continue to rise, even in the console’s sixth year. Additionally, the recent opening of Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios in California has been a significant milestone. However, these achievements pale in comparison to the buzz surrounding their iconic mustachioed plumber.

This summer, “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” made nearly $1.4 billion worldwide at the box office, making it the second-highest-grossing animated film in history. Now, Nintendo is set to release “Super Mario Bros. Wonder,” the latest installment in the franchise, which has received rave reviews from critics.

The journey to this point has been a long one for Mario. Created by developer Shigeru Miyamoto four decades ago, this unassuming Italian plumber, known for saving princesses and making remarkable jumps, has become a beloved character. After a rather forgettable live-action movie in 1993, Mario found his true home on Nintendo’s gaming consoles. With hit games like Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros., Mario’s popularity continued to soar as Nintendo expanded its horizons both within and outside the gaming industry.

Nintendo of America president, Doug Bowser, reflects on the limitless potential of the Mario franchise, highlighting the company’s evolution from solely focusing on game development to embracing a broader spectrum of possibilities.

Mario’s reach is extensive, extending beyond video games to various aspects of popular culture. He has become a Lego minifig, a clothing brand, a cereal, and even a character on Saturday Night Live. Fans are enthralled by details like who voices Mario and even the character’s physical attributes. As Nintendo’s most recognizable and beloved character, Mario essentially serves as a mascot for the company. His likability, cuteness, sense of adventure, and approachability make him a perfect ambassador.

The development of “Super Mario Bros. Wonder” was guided by the principle of approachability. The game’s setup is familiar, with Mario and his companions visiting the Flower Kingdom and facing Bowser’s disruptive presence. Players must collect Wonder seeds to defeat Bowser. Nintendo aimed to make this game accessible to both longtime fans and newcomers, particularly those who are experiencing Mario for the first time.

The game features 12 characters, including options that are less susceptible to damage, making it easier for novice players to enjoy the game. The addition of co-op mode, offering both local and online play, allows players to collaborate to complete the game.

“Super Mario Bros. Wonder” marks the return of the series to side-scrolling platforming after a decade. With players more knowledgeable than ever about Nintendo’s approach to Mario games, the title had to meet high expectations. The game introduces “Wonder” elements, which add a fresh and unexpected twist to the classic Mario experience, surprising players with new challenges and power-ups.

Looking ahead, Nintendo is not merely a video game developer but a broader entertainment company. The success of the Mario movie illustrates the potential of expanding Nintendo’s intellectual property into different media. However, while comparisons to entertainment giants like Disney are inevitable, Nintendo remains committed to respecting Mario’s legacy and ensuring any expansion aligns with his popularity and beloved status. Rushing to market with activations outside of video games is not in their strategy; they want to protect and preserve what makes Mario so cherished as they venture into new territories.

Using AI, a new YouTube tool will enable you to sound like your favourite artist

YouTube is developing an artificial intelligence (AI) tool that will enable creators to record audio in the voices of famous musicians. While specific details are limited, YouTube has initiated discussions with major music labels, including Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group, and Warner Music Group, to secure the rights to songs for training the AI tool.

This move by YouTube follows the recent banning of a viral AI-generated song featuring realistic-sounding versions of Drake and The Weeknd. The use of AI in music has sparked debates about copyright and licensing, especially when it involves mimicking real artists. YouTube is addressing these challenges by incorporating emerging technology. The company previously established its “first-ever set of AI music principles” to balance creative expression and artist protection on its platform. Now, it is introducing AI-generated mimicry as a new feature.

Several questions arise with this development. It remains to be seen how YouTube will set limits on the content that can be generated using this AI tool. Additionally, the monetization process is a key consideration. While artists will share in the revenue generated by AI videos mimicking their voices, the specifics of this revenue split are yet to be determined. There are also concerns about artist recourse if the content generated involves their songs with a message they personally disagree with.

YouTube has a history of integrating AI, having recently introduced AI video tools for creators that enable automatic dubbing into other languages, automatic background generation, and AI video summaries for viewers. The new AI feature for replicating artists’ voices was initially intended to be part of this rollout, but rights issues have caused delays.

Lady Gaga Performs at a Rolling Stones’ Secret NYC Nightclub Concert to Announce New Album “Hackney Diamonds”

The Rolling Stones delivered an electrifying performance, playing an impressive seven-song set at Racket on W 16th Street in Chelsea tonight.

A fortunate audience of six hundred, including prominent figures such as Elvis Costello and Diana Krall, Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz, and Christie Brinkley, were treated to their performance. Joining the audience were familiar faces like Jimmy Fallon, Keegan Michael Key, Christie Turlington, and Ed Burns, as well as CBS’s Anthony Mason and Dr. John LaPook, Trevor Noah, and Rolling Stone editor Gus Wenner, accompanied by his father, former Rolling Stone owner Jann Wenner, who recently made headlines due to a scandal.

The band’s performance was intense and awe-inspiring as they belted out classics and introduced new tracks from their latest album, Hackney Diamonds, which had already reached number two on iTunes by morning. Lady Gaga made a memorable appearance, joining them for an energetic finale on “Sweet Sounds of Heaven.”

Questioned deejayed both before and after the show.

Their setlist also featured iconic songs like “Shattered,” “Tumbling Dice,” and “Jumping Jack Flash.”

Mick Jagger remains the eighth wonder of the world. At 80, he possesses the energy, agility, and vocals of a 30-year-old. Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood were equally impressive on their guitars. The entire band exuded a contemporary prowess that could easily overpower any current act.

Among their standout performances, the Stones presented “Angry,” the lead single from their new album, along with crowd favorites such as “Whole Wide World” and “Bite Off Your Head.” The former seems poised to become a hit single, while the latter is a whirlwind that had the band members congratulating each other upon completion.

Despite a collective age of 240 years and significant wealth, Mick, Keith, and Ronnie exhibited an almost alarming level of energy. Witnessing them from a close distance reinforced this notion. Ronnie appeared to be enjoying every moment, laughing on stage and reveling in the thrill. Keith led the pack, delivering a master class in lead guitar and band management. As for Mick, his performance defied all expectations, as he gracefully danced and beckoned Keith to join him, as if it were still the 1960s.

WhatsApp Disappearing Voice Messages: How to Send Them

Initially, we had phone calls, then the shift to texting, resulting in a pause in actual conversations. However, something was still missing: phone calls can be time-consuming, and texting isn’t ideal for conveying lengthy thoughts. Thus, the voice message emerged as a simple way to share spontaneous messages without committing to a full call or laboriously typing on your touchscreen.

But, just like with any form of messaging, there are instances when you don’t want these voice notes to be stored indefinitely. Maybe there was a mistake in your message, and you’d rather not have it lingering around after one listen. Or perhaps you have some confidential information to share and want to avoid leaving any evidence behind.

This is where the “view once” feature typically comes into play. You can use it to send messages, photos, and videos for one-time viewing, erasing them from the app afterward, similar to how Snapchat operates, but within a WhatsApp conversation. However, voice messages have been excluded from this “view once” feature since their introduction to the app—until now.

WhatsApp is currently testing the ability to send voice messages using the “view once” feature, meaning that as soon as the recipient listens to it, the message vanishes. It works similarly to voice messages on iOS, where, by default, they delete two minutes after being played unless the recipient chooses to keep them.

The catch is that this feature isn’t available to the general public yet. To test it, you need to be part of the WhatsApp beta program. Unfortunately, if you’re not already enrolled in the iOS beta, you’re out of luck because it’s at full capacity. However, the Android beta is open to all, allowing anyone on that platform to give it a try. According to WABetaInfo, the feature is being rolled out to WhatsApp beta for Android versions and, as well as WhatsApp beta for iOS version

Here’s how to send disappearing voice messages in WhatsApp:

  1. Ensure you’re running the beta version of WhatsApp.
  2. Open a WhatsApp chat to which you want to send a voice message.
  3. Press and hold the microphone button to start recording.
  4. Swipe up to enable hands-free recording.
  5. While in this mode, you’ll see a new icon labeled (1). Tap it to send your voice note in “view once” mode.
  6. Note that you won’t be able to listen to your voice message after sending it this way, so it’s a good idea to review it before tapping (1).
  7. Once the recipient listens to or dismisses the message, it will disappear.

Enjoying grapes is easy; you can consume them as is, skin and seeds included, or separate the grapes from the stem to include in cooking, baking, or juicing. Drying grapes creates raisins, and fermentation yields wine. The choice of how to savor grapes depends on personal preference and your culinary endeavors.

Kanye West’s upcoming album was “rejected by major record labels” after antisemitism allegations

Kanye West, a prominent figure in the rap industry since the early 2000s, has faced significant challenges with his latest album due to allegations of antisemitism. Major record labels have reportedly shown reluctance to engage with the 46-year-old artist for his 11th studio album, following his 2021 release “Donda.”

West, who spent the summer traveling across Europe with his wife, Bianca Censori, 28, has already completed the album in collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign. However, over the past year, the American rapper has faced recurrent accusations of antisemitism, including a recent incident where he applied for a trademark using the phrase ‘Yews.’

These allegations have taken a toll on West’s personal life, with even his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, expressing distress over the situation, expressing a desire to avoid discussing it further. Consequently, West is currently exploring options with smaller record labels to release his new music, following multiple rejections from major industry players, as reported by Billboard.

In the previous year, West posted tweets expressing extreme hostility towards Jewish people, leading to the suspension of his account on the social media platform. He later made controversial statements during an appearance on the Info Wars podcast, where he expressed admiration for Hitler and suggested positive aspects about him. These comments resulted in the termination of several brand partnerships, including Adidas. Now, West’s latest album is encountering challenges in finding a home with larger record labels.

‘Rick and Morty’: Justin Roiland’s replacements are revealed in the season 7 premiere

“Rick and Morty” has at last disclosed the new voice actors taking over for the show’s star, Justin Roiland.

In the Season 7 premiere credits on Sunday night, the names Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden were revealed as the new voices of Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith, respectively. Interestingly, the opening credits omitted the typical “Created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon” and only featured the “Rick and Morty” logo.

The characters’ new voices were initially heard in the Season 7 trailer released in September, but Adult Swim kept the identity of the voice actors under wraps. Screeners for “Rick and Morty” provided before the season’s launch didn’t include credits, and though the show’s representatives initially promised to unveil the voice actors’ names ahead of the Season 7 premiere on October 15, Adult Swim later reneged on that commitment via email.

It’s worth noting that Justin Roiland was terminated by Adult Swim in January following domestic violence charges, which were later dismissed in March. Furthermore, allegations of misconduct were raised in a September NBC report. Despite these events, Roiland’s attorney has denied these accusations.

“Rick and Morty” follows the adventures of the titular grandfather-grandson duo as they journey through the universe. The logline for the upcoming season, in a light-hearted tone, mentions the new voices: “Rick and Morty are back and sounding more like themselves than ever,” it reads. “It’s season seven, and the possibilities are endless: what’s up with Jerry? EVIL Summer?! And will they ever go back to high school?! Maybe not! But let’s find out! There’s probably less piss than last season. ‘Rick and Morty,’ 100 years! Or at least until season 10!”

“Rick and Morty” initially premiered in 2013 and has received widespread critical acclaim. Season 7, comprising 10 new episodes, is set to premiere on Adult Swim on October 15.

It’s worth mentioning that Justin Roiland was also the co-creator and lead voice actor in Hulu’s animated comedy series “Solar Opposites,” with Dan Stevens announced as his replacement for the voice of the lead character, Korvo.

How to Create AI Images in Google Search With a Text Description

Dedicated AI image generators like DALL-E and Midjourney popularized the idea of generating images from text descriptions. Since then, various tools and platforms have emerged, offering different methods of creating images with artificial intelligence.

However, Google is now exploring the concept of generating AI images directly within its search engine, known as the AI-powered Search Generative Experience (SGE).

Bringing AI-Generated Images to Google Search

In August 2023, Google introduced the SGE feature, which provides users with answers to their queries directly on the search page. Google has expanded this functionality to include AI image generation.

This update enables users to generate images using generative AI by simply entering a text description in Google Search. You describe your concept, and SGE will display up to four generated images in the search results. You can then select one of these images and further edit the description to add more details and refine your vision.

How to Create AI Images Directly in Google Search

To use Google’s Search Generative Experience, you need to opt into the feature first, which you can do on the Google Search Labs page. As of now, SGE is available only to US residents aged 18 and older.

Once you’ve opted in, follow these steps to start creating AI images using SGE:

  1. Visit and enter a description of what you want to visualize in the search box. For example, you can type “create an image of a flying car.”
  2. Press Enter or click the search icon. Up to four generated images will appear in the search results.
  3. Click on any of the images to view an expanded version of your query. You can also modify the query by clicking the Edit button in the expanded image view, allowing you to adjust or add more details to your request.
  4. When you’re satisfied with your image, you can download it by selecting Export > Download. Alternatively, you can export it to your Google Drive by clicking Export > Google Drive.

Tips for Using Google’s SGE for AI Image Generation

To make the most of this feature, consider the following tips:

Structure your query as a prompt: To activate Google’s AI image generator, structure your query as a prompt. Begin with action verbs like “create,” “draw,” “make,” “generate,” and so on.

Get creative and have fun: SGE not only serves as a useful tool but also encourages you to explore your imagination and creativity. Experiment with generating images that are humorous, surreal, or impossible in real life. If you need inspiration, our AI art prompt ideas article can provide suggestions.

Maintain respectfulness: While SGE is an enjoyable and practical tool, it’s not designed to generate harmful or offensive content. If your query is potentially harmful, SGE will not produce any images and will request that you try something else.

Create AI Images Effortlessly with Google’s SGE

Google’s SGE is a convenient tool for those seeking a quick and effortless way to generate images. Whether you have professional, educational, or personal image needs, or simply want to explore your creative side, this feature allows you to transform your text into images with ease and speed.
